| Dear Friends,
I write to you to thank you for all of the concern, prayers, wishes, cards, calls, gifts and acts of kindness that have been sent my way during the recent weeks. Although I intend to make a full recovery in the upcoming months your intimations have meant an awful lot. I'm not certain as to the actual date of all of the events that I have yet to experience, but I am certain that I will be returning to you in good health after the Labour Day week-end. I've learned more about sickness and well being, compass- ionate medical care, and human kindness than I ever did in six years of university training and I am thankful that I am in the hands of such qualified and caring ministers of healing in the last while. I ask you to continue to be faithful to the mission and work of the church in my short-term absence and that upon our reacquaintance it be a great reunion in soul as in spirit.
My intention is to spend some time with family here in the City after my
surgery and then return to Nova Scotia to complete my recovery there reading,
writing and resting. I encourage you to read, write and rest over
the summer months as I will be back in the fall and we will once again
be busy together.
Look forward to seeing you on September 3rd. In Christ, Shaun E. Fryday |
