Music West is Canada’s most unique annual, independent New Music Festival. The 1998 event takes place in Vancouver, BC May 28-30th. Vancouver boasts Canada’s most vibrant and evolutionary new music scene. Moreover, Vancouver is formidably positioned at the gateway to the core
of today’s progressive music: LA.
The Music West New Music Festival provides young independent artists and bands with an opportunity to showcase their material LIVE to the industy’s premier executives and A&R reps. Last year’s Festival cast a bright light on such rising stars as Holly McNarland, Age of Electric,
Mollies Revenge, Midge, Zuckerbaby, Leahy, Kofy Brown,
The Plaid Tongued Devils, and Swamp Mama Johnson....
to name just a few....
..in 1998 it could be you!
The 1998 Festival promises an incredible music marathon and sheer energy - with 200 bands playing 20 of Vancouver’s craziest clubs and concert halls! At Music West we believe that bigger ain’t better, we don’t try and squeeze in as many bands as possible over the three day festival,
just to make money. Music West takes a street approach to music. We think quality is better than quantity. And the industry seems to agree! Representatives of major record labels come from all over North America by the hundreds to get intimate and interactive with our showcasing talent. This means that you get to meet these guys & gals face to face instead of trying to shop your material through a maze of bureaucratic obstacles. Music West 1997 saw the likes of such industry icons as Stan Kulin (President, Warner Music Canada), Gary Slaight (President, Standard Radio), Howie Klein (President, Reprise Records), Phil Quatararo (President, Virgin US) and David Silver (A&R VP, Mercury Polydor USA).
The Music West’98 New Music Festival “EXPOSE YOURSELF!” Call for Tapes(& CDS!) is now looking for aspiring, musicians to showcase their talent. In order to be eligible, you must be and independant artist or band currently performing your original music LIVE. Music West welcomes all genres of modern music. Bands chosen to showcase will get tons of
valuable marketing opportunites and VIP access to all Conference & Festival programming. The EXPOSE YOURSELF! Call for Tapes runs from September 1st until December 15th 1997. For Festival applications call our HOTLINE @ 604-681-4460 anytime 24 - 7.
C’Mon EXPOSE YOURSELF!.... We dare ya!
Music West’98, May 28, 29, 30th.......Don’t miss it

As a former Piano manufacturer, see Piano Atlas, under LeSage
and Rösch, and consult the Piano Book by Larry Fine, we restore
and/or re-manufacture vintage grands and uprights.
Among our credits: Steinway concert grand for the Mount Royal
College, Calgary; Steinway "B" from 1900 for Dr. David Moroz,
University of Manitoba, Winnipeg; 7' Bechstein circa 1911,
Calgary; Victorian Steinway 7' 1879, Calgary; too many to
mention. All with new soundboard, bridges, action etc...
Transport is very reasonable. Many attestations and
recommendations on hand. All work done on the premises.
A complete restoration comes to just over half the price of the
new equal quality instrument.
Please mention this source when contacting us. A home page is
in the making.
