Multiplying any single - digit number by 9

Let us say we want to multiply 9 by 8

Spread your two hands in front of you ..with the fingers spread Up
From left to right count 8 fingers, Bend down the last finger (the eighth)
What you will see (from left to right): seven fingers up, one finger down, and two up
Consider the finger that is bent down is a separator
The answer is 7 (the first seven fingers) and 2 (the following 2 fingers
Therefore the answer is 72

Let us try 9X3

Spread your two hands in front of you ..with the fingers spread Up
From left to right count 3 fingers, Bend down the last finger (the third)
What you will see (from left to right): Two fingers up, one finger down, and Seven up
Consider the finger that is bent down is a separator
The answer is 2 (the first two fingers) and 7 (the following 7 fingers)
Therefore the answer is 27

DO YOU KNOW THAT MULTIPLYING ANY ONE-DIGIT NUMBER BY 9 WILL RESULT INTO A TWO-DIGITS NUMBER THAT IF YOU ADD BOTH ITS DIGITS IT WILL BE 9

9 x 2 = 18 (1+8 = 9)

9 x 5 = 45 ( 4+ 5 = 9)

9 x 9 = 72 ( 7 + 2 = 9 )

AND SO ON ...... !
