Citations A new section, as of July 22, 1999, to recognize the awards for bravery by members of Mike and H&S Company 3/5. All of the Medal of Honor and Navy Cross Awards presented to members of the companies are here. Two Mike Company, One H&S and One India Company Medal of Honor citations are shown here. Five Mike Company and One H&S Company Navy Crosses are included. Twenty eight Silver Stars and nine Bronze Stars awarded to members of Mike are shown. One Silver Star for a member of H&S Company is also shown. Seven Navy Commendation Medals and one Navy Achievement Medal also are shown. In our continuing effort to ensure that the records of these actions are not lost in the mists of time, we encourage any of you guys to submit your Silver and Bronze Star Citations, as well as your Navy Commendations. Thanks. For a list of all the Medals of Honor and Navy Crosses, as well as most of the Silver Stars, awarded to members of the Battalion during the Vietnam War please see the Table of Awards on the Battalion page. 5th Marines earned the Presidential Unit Citation for Operations Union and Union II. It is our belief that this the only time in Vietnam that a single unit smaller than a division received a PUC for a single operation. 5th Marines earned the Meritorious Unit Citation for Operation Mameluke Thrust. 1st Marine Division earned the Presidential Unit Citation for the period 29 March 1966 to 15 September 1967.
